The White Stripes
White Blood Cells
Listening notes
I don't think I've listend to any of The White Stripes' albums, though definitely have heard all their singles. I think that seeing Jack White on The Colbert Report turned me off to him a little, also his weird relationship with Meg White, even though I like a lot of his work. Also knowing that he dislikes The Black Keys, and I already had bought some of their albums and just love "Tighten Up." I have heard Jack White's BlunderBuss and The Raconteurs first album, and I liked most of the latter
I'm definitely a hypocrite in that I really don't like country, but I don't mind "Hotel Yorba," and it kind of bothers me that the record is obviously overproduced by Jack White, but so are so many other albums, and I know from footage I've seen that Jack white seems to be a great live performer, so its probably ok
Maybe I have heard all the songs on the album through Pandora, which on my "Aught Alternative" station would from time to time get stuck in a blues rut full of Black Keys, White Stripes, and their derivatives
Its been pointed out before, but Black Keys, White Stripes - colours
The first time I heard "Fell In Love With a Girl" had to have been on Weird Al's polka whatever version
This is a very fun album, It goes from really bluesy to a high energy and it just makes sense
I forgot that Napoleon Dynamite used the song "We're Goint To Be Friends" from the album for the opening credits
unfortunately I'm going to have to split this into two parts for this album. In general I like listening to albums from start to end
Got through Aluminum...
Finished the album with E clapping and dancing
